I'd heard that the Sun Hotel on Friargate was the main venue now. Might be worth a quick call to make sure.
Actually, just noticed this one is on the same street as our hotel. Happy days
If you go to the Sun, drop a line in here as a review. I'm in Preston a lot and have had to use The Railway in the past. An alternative would be very welcome.

The Railway changed hands a few years ago, was Irish owned/run/spirited and home of Preston Emerald. Been revamped in to a more gentrified establishment - not been in so cant comment any further.

The Sun is now where the bhoys watch the games - its right in the middle of the student bar area - not draped in tic memorabilia etc but the natives are friendly

Anyone know anywhere in Carlisle that I'll be able to watch the game on Sunday? Preferably near the train station.

Cheers!

The Market Inn, used to work there, and got picked up from the Creetown and District CSC for midweek games or Sam's Bar or you could get through to Dumfries where Greens would be a great place or watch it or The Spread Eagle for a more partisan crowd

Carlisle's feckin grim. Have watched a game or two in the boozer outside the train station before, or in the lloyds bar around the corner but neither are tim pubs and just show what ever footie is on. If the game clashes with english teams you might not get and may be better off getting a taxi over the boarder!

Buggiba/Qawra area in Malta for the Motherwell game.

There's an 'Oirsih-ish' gaff showing up in Celticbars.com with the thoroughly daft name of 'Munchies' which has a Celtic crest on it's homepage so you'd assume that would do the job but just in case...
That would appear to be the best place, think the Malta CSC relocated there from St Julians - walked past it on a night out looking for a decent pub to go and have a drink in and didn't go in due to stupid name, but turns out I might have missed a wee trick there judging by reports (OK, googling) after I got back. Worth popping in and asking, I reckon.
Cheers Fella. Just found their Facebook page so have posted a message asking straight out if they're showing the game, they can GTF if not on the grounds of that stupid name.
Just noticed this Aldo

Not sure how long you are in Malta but The Dubliner in St Julians shows all the games, great wee boozer

Its been a few years since i have been there but if u ask for directions to the top of 'The Strip' there is a big hotel called Hotel Montegiero(sp) and beside it was a big Irish bar which showed alot of football and GAA when ive been there

other bars down the strip will show the game as well - keep an eye out for their advertising boards on street

Jinkys at the top of the strip if it's still open. To be honest most bars advertise the games showing live that day, you should be fine you jammy bassa :)
