Looking for a bar in New York where you can watch Celtic live. Ideally they would sell full pints (20 oz) in glass tumblers. I don't want 3/4 pints in plastic containers.

Tried Dempsey's and the Parlour. Would prefer somewhere else.
Let me guess ... You visited around st patricks day, right?

I'm in demseys pretty regularly and the only time they use plastic is during the week of march 17.

Ps, those are the only two cscs in Manhattan. Check the link on the first page of this thread for info on clubs in the other boroughs.

Yes, the last time I was in NY was St Paddys.

I'll maybe try Queens this time. Or the Bronx. Don't see anywhere in Brooklyn.

Anyway, cheers, appreciate the heads-up.

most irish bars have sky/espn so will show celtic games but Finn's tavern is the home of the Madrid CSC so every celtic game is given priority there

No place in Brooklyn, but both Bronx and Queens are very good clubs with excellent folk keeping them going.

Is the Dubai Hoops CSC still alive?

Emailed the address on their web site but no answer so guessing no, moving there for a wee while and wondering if The Dubliner bar will be showing the Europa League games, 10pm or midnight kick offs so wondering if it will still be open for the end of the games?

They were when i was there 12months ago. I'm sure they're still on the go-i think it's a big CSC. It's in the Méridien out by the airport as well(there's two which i found out and missed the first half of our game  )

Buggiba/Qawra area in Malta for the Motherwell game.

There's an 'Oirsih-ish' gaff showing up in Celticbars.com with the thoroughly daft name of 'Munchies' which has a Celtic crest on it's homepage so you'd assume that would do the job but just in case...

I'd heard that the Sun Hotel on Friargate was the main venue now. Might be worth a quick call to make sure.

That would appear to be the best place, think the Malta CSC relocated there from St Julians - walked past it on a night out looking for a decent pub to go and have a drink in and didn't go in due to stupid name, but turns out I might have missed a wee trick there judging by reports (OK, googling) after I got back. Worth popping in and asking, I reckon.

Cheers Fella. Just found their Facebook page so have posted a message asking straight out if they're showing the game, they can GTF if not on the grounds of that stupid name.

Lads, does anyone know if Celtic home games are being shown on any of those foreign channels these days?

I remember when we had Boruc and Zurawski I saw a game or two on some polish satellite in a pub with a 'dodgy' box. I've just moved to rural England and the local working mans club has one of these boxes and advertises 3pm EPL games. I'm just wondering if I knew the channel the Tic might be on I could ask the guy to fire it on me. Cheers for any info.

These english "working" mens clubs are hilarious by the way. Went into it yesterday looking for the Ireland match. 3.30pm on a tuesday afternoon the place is heaving. Mighty short working days in England.

They are, aye. :ph43r: Dunno which ones, like, but I know there are pubs up here which show the games. Owner of one of my regular haunts clocked me in the street after the Dundee United game a couple of weeks ago "how come you weren't in the pub, I had the game on". None too impressed with my "was at Celtic Park mate, they had it on an' all, and they don't rip me off for over-priced rubbish beer!". He wasn't quick enough to come back with "aye, just with over-priced rubbish centre halves, eh?", which is what I'd have said if I'd been set up with a line like that.
