About 6 months ago i Was speaking with someone I used to play footie with who now works with SFA in respect of the top Scotland U19's , he told me of all the youngsters on the go Fraser was the standout and is expected to go all the way in the game. Also said that Celtic Dwarf any other Scottish club in respect of funds towards youth development and are miles ahead in that regard. Hope his expectations are spot on and he is a Sevco man.........
The next step is the crucial one and one that we've failed at in the past - at age 18 to 20 we need to play them. Otherwse they stagnate. Looks promising now, let's give them a chance. We have the perfect scenario, no proper league challenge for some years to come......

Anyone else think he seems quite small for a defender? Good player though.
asked a few weeks ago if any youth defenders are likely to come through (think it was around the time Wilson was suspended and Ambrose was away) and mentioned Fraser, Fatboab replied that he had talent but thought he was too short to make it with us, did well yesterday right enough and should get more games between now and the end of the season

Size always helps in the SPHell - however attitude can make up for a lot!
Young Fraser struck me as someone prepared to do the right things and was quick enough to get in to position whereas young Chalmers didn't.
This is not to right off Chalmers as he had to come on and get to the pace of the game while Fraser had started.
Good luck to both
I just hope that they get more game time before the end of the season to prove their worth!

Lewis Toshney has been doing well recently in a very poor Dundee team.

If your name was Michael Jackson, why on earth would you shorten it to Mike???

ot - thought Fraser looked decent the other day. Give him some games and see how he does.

On the other hand, if your job involved watching boys running around getting sweaty in shorts, would you really want to stick with the name Michael Jackson? :ph43r:

I'd rate John Herron above Marcus Fraser myself, different positions obviously but I think he has a real chance of making the step up.

Think Fraser still has a bit of work to do to meet first team standards, Chalmers is good going forward but badly lacking any pace (ala Mulgrew) so who knows.

Bhoy picked up a really bad injury against Aberdeen under-20s last week.

Ligament damage expected to be out for 9months.

Gutted for him and hope he makes a full recovery.

Feck, that is terrible news. He seems to be rated quite highly.

Hopefully he can come back quick.

Is it just me or do so many of our young players get unlucky long term injuries at the crucial point in their development? Even recently, Keatings, George, McGeouch and now Fraser? I can think of Liam Miller and Charlie Grant going back a bit further.
