Ned Rise's last paragraph absolutely shredding Chelsea is a sterling example of the genre.

Ned Rise in the Sevco thread
The Sevco statement is nonsense. It's up there with Bill Clinton when he said in court, "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is" during the Monica Lewinski affair.

The club at the time gained from the playing of players who they otherwise could not have afforded. The measure by which they got onto the pitch, i.e. which company hired them, is irrelevant. Had Sevco not claimed the titles as an 'unbroken' part of their history, their position would make sense. So they are benefitting from it to this day by claiming it as their right, which is an affront to all logic. The Scottish game has tied itself in knots trying to accommodate this fallacy which was conceived and peddled by some of the men now up in court charged with a 'major international fraud'.

Why should we, the public who were recruited as unknowing and unwilling Rangers season book holders for a decade, funding their club as they did battle with ours, paying for their players as they embarrassed themselves in Europe, why should we be expected to swallow this blatant falsehood from accused fraudsters? Not to mention the current board which contains an officially recorder 'liar' at its head.

To claim it and deny the obvious conclusion that these are titles won due to the deception of the public is merely the latest in a series of bare-faced lies from a club of serial shysters. From Murray to Whyte to Green to King they have dragged that club through the mud. I, and no doubt every one of you, never had any time for it, because I knew exactly what it was with its veneer of respectability barely concealing the toxicity that bubbled under the surface. But to others they did have that establishment endorsement and their po-faced hunnery and hat-doffing to the notion of 'discipline', the Crown, and the 'big hoose' seemed to enhance it. Now even that is gone. They have nothing but their military fetish to cling to, oblivious to the irony that their notion of fighting for 'Queen and Country' only extends to the glorification of others' deeds, while they habitually raided the public purse that these soldiers have to be paid out of.

What should have happened when Rangers became a modern, multi-cultural employer, finally turning up to the 20th century party just as the cans and fags were running out, was that they shed the baggage that had weighed them down. They were the boil on the face of Scotland and it was finally lanced in 1989. The problem for Rangers was that the man who broke the religious apartheid was the type of loadsamoney showoff, for whom winning wasn't enough. He had to be seen to be winning. He wined and dined journalists, filling their bellies with succulent lamb and their heads with moonbeams of the obliteration of Celtic, who they would leave behind as he steered his spaceship stadium into worlds where cash seemed to literally grow on trees.

We all know how that ended, but hopefully this isn't the final word on an average trickster who was granted a stage far bigger than his talent deserved.

They are gone. They have nothing. Their fur-coat-and-no-knickers club lies in tatters and their self-respect was surrendered a long, long time ago, way before any 'billionaires' appeared on the scene. It's only now that the whole world can see what the rest of us have known for a long time. The game is up.
