Don't know if BBC ran with it. STV obviously punching clever with the voice of the fans etc.

Being in my late 30s means that I spent a large proportion of my teenage years and early twenties having to look on as that mob paraded players we couldn't even hope to bid for. I had to look on as we moved from the Marc De Gruise (sp?) debacle to David Ginola to the prolonged signature of Andy Thom, whilst they were spending millions on players. I hated it when they signed Alan McLaren when Tommy wanted him. They even signed some Polish guy (Adamchuck?) from Dundee that we were interested in and he hardly kicked a ball for them. Le Petit Merde was a low point. I had to read about their two teams, one for the League and one for Europe, fivers and tenners, deep pockets, Casinos, Ronaldo, private jets and on and on.

The media didn't shirk from reporting every soundbite. They didn't shirk from iinvestigating the stadium fantasy at Cambuslang. They didn't shirk from asking Martin O'Neil about Sectarianism. They didn't even have the respect for Dr Jo when a pumpkin of a journalist challenged him to a race in the carpark.

They called us the beggars.

Well it turns out it was all built on sand. Wee Fergus took a doin from the media whilst the Knight of the Realm fed them lamb and dodged taxes. Their attempt to usurp the Celtic side of the 60s and 70s led by the great man was a pipe dream. The time of reckoning is hopefully here. They never equalled Stein in any of our eyes with their tainted 9 in a row; the sounbites have all dried up. The past two years have meant that their 9 in a row will always be regarded as stolen and dirty. They know it every bit as much as we do. Their establishment credentials are down the pan. They are thieves and fraudsters.

.............................McSTAY8 :potm:
this  , I had the added baggage of living in Edinburgh and being the only Celtic fan in my sphere of peers, think how many doings I got (especially when Hearts and Smith (Henry) dropped the double), whenever we beat Hibs or Hearts, whenever we managed a win over the dark side (there were surpisingly many of them in the west of edinburgh in the nineties) and how all Hibs and Hearts fans loved calling me a "glory hunter".......glory hunter????????? what glory was I hunting in the late 80's and all through the 90's????? a couple of league wins and a couple of cups, but numerous dead legs, punches etc etc etc, no-one puts up with the crap I had to (ie being a dirty fenian kafflik bastard every day, even when I didn't have a clue what a fenian was and came from a portestant famil who have always supported celtic) if they are merely glory hunting.....I'm celtic through and through and all those bad times merely give me the strength to fight my "green" corner whenever I go back to Edinburgh and get into the usual nonsense "discussions" with my friends about glory hunting et al............To the followers of the deid bears and of the new boo-boo bears GIRUY karma is natures law enforcement agency.........

It's a shame that I miss all these crazy threads.

Ask her to "hang on a minute" - then do whatever you feel like doing. Scratch yourself, stare at a squirrel running up a tree, peel the skin off a banana. Whatever you want. Then say to her, "Ok - you can continue". Again, this is especially effective when she wasn't saying anything in the first place.
