Good stuff. Report by Willie Allison who later became PR man for the deid huns in the late 60's.

Allison is famous for two things:

1. Telling hun chairman John Lawrence in the late 60's to sell Ibrox if that's what it takes to get Jock Stein as manager.

2. Being slaughtered in Alex Ferguson's autobiugraphy for commenting on Fergie's wife's Catholic faith.

Another very rare pic of the Grant Stand, fantastic pic. Where did you get a hold of these Elvis?

Its a still from the Motherwell v Ayr United match at CP 1921, Ayr playing in the hoops. If you ever get the chance have a look on the CGS website, someone with the same name as you posted it

The one of the Patsy with the Grant Stand in the background is also on the same website

Well aware FLC, glad you spotted the irony mate.

Nicholas the first time so it's 1980-83.
Judging by the collar on the strip it's 1982-83.
Opposition doesn't look Scottish therefore could be Irish.

So my guess would be Finn Harps May 1983.....?

That is Dermet keely, is it not who would have been a Dundalk player at that time but it doesn't look to be the Dundalk strip. We played them Nov '79 at Oriel Pk, but that was a night match so mightily confused.

And Nicholas didn't play in the European tie.

Keely managed UCD for a few months before moving on to Shamrock Rovers, but I don't seem to recall a UCD V Celtic friendly back then? Could the Milford on the shirts be for the MIlford Hospice? Assuming of course that it is Dermet Keely?

there were three friendlies against LoI teams between 80-83, Dundalk, HomeFarm & Finn Harps, according to Celtic Programmes on line, Nicholas played and scored against Harps, there are no lines ups for the other two games. I think you are right about FH.
