Dalglish the overrated fud had missed a few previously and Stein had them practicing them - Amazingly against that shower we got one iirc via BFDJ and Dalglish or Jock gave Lynch the nod - Lynch had never taken a penalty at professional level before.
I wasn't too confident when lynch went up to take the penalty but he ended up a great penalty kick taker.Did he only miss one penalty out of about twenty?
From memory he missed one at Pittodrie in 1978 when we lost 2-1.

Alan Rough also saved one at Parkhead but Andy Pandy scored with the rebound so we'll forgiv ehim for that one

Pat McMahon was a Tim who played for us also ce.
Harry Hood was the P.E. Teacher at St.Columbkilles,Rutherglen before he signed for the Hoops and if my old memory serves me correct, he played for Clyde against us one Wedensday evening and our P.E. lesson was cancelled that afternoon. Any ex Killes Bhoys care to expand?
HH was real clinical finisher. Still recall singing "Harry Harry, Kevin Barry, Lou Macari, Harry Hood" to the Hari Krishna tune. Trouble is that it sticks in your head all day.

St Ants - I actually tried to track Mario down to see if he had any snaps from the tournament!

I wonder where he is now? :ponder:

As a matter of fact, he's still living at the same address, 45 years later....

why "the Callaghan game"... I thought at first Tommy had had a blinder
The referee, Jim Callaghan, was suspended for three months and demoted to Grade 3(b) after Deidco submitted a dignified complaint about his handling of the game - principally that he failed to issue a second caution to Yogi after he had fouled Johansen. No need to prove sporting advantage in those days, Timmy: a wee secret sign, and a squeeze of the correct knuckle got the job done.

EDIT: Tid didn't play in that game.
