The cover on the Rangers end of Ibrox went up in 1965.
No it didn't; the cover was under construction (MDW, if you're interested) when we pumped them 4-0 at Billywood in the Glasgow Cup in 1966/67.
The v-neck Der hun shirt went around 67/68? Jinky and Bobby's hair styles look very mid sixties, I say before Lisbon?

I wonder who asked who for a picture because I think I've heard Rio mentioning McStay in the past. :hmmm:

68/69 was when they started using the intertwined RFC logo on their manky jerseys, and changed their strip to all-blue top, white shorts, and red socks with white trim.

is the ball about to come back off the post for Jinky to equalise in the 67 championship clinching match? BTW I dont think the Celtic end was ever covered at Ibrox, I was only in the old stadium once, V St Mirren '79, and I dont recall a cover.

Celtic end at Ibrox never got covered.
They only put benches in the other bit facing the main stand and called it the centenary stand because our noizy lot were getting closer to the halfway line all the time.

Sure is and you're absolutely spot on about TG and BM's pride at winning, even for the reserves. To a man, the younger players of that era pointed that out about the Lions, how they helped them in training and during matches. Sheer class every one of them.

The others are:

(Back Row) McGrain, Macari, McCluskey and White.
(Middle Row) Quinn, Cattanach, Lally, Davidson, Dalglish and Wilson.

we went up to most games in those days , 5 of us from stranraer all celtic fans and we were shampooting ourselves incase stranraer won and we had to go home and face them , stranraer brought up about 2000 that day i think and most of them huns , remember the striker from stranraer bruce cleland i think his name was was playing in one of his last games before emigrating to oz and a big hun missed a sitter near the end
Jungle behind the commentary gantry facing the Celtic Dugout was the spot my bro went to. Was at a good few games that year but he never missed.
And Stranraer missed a penalty that day !

It is about to come off the post and Jinky sticks it in the net- strangely both teams shot into the "wrong" ends - Celtic into Celtic End in First half, hun end in 2nd.

Also 68/69 was first year of the round neck hun strip - first time I saw it they beat us 4-2 at CP in September 68 we beat them 2-0 at Ibrox in League Cup - forgot about that - it was also Jim Baxter's first competitive game back with the huns..

The Celtic End at Ibrox was never covered.

I was never in the enclosure at Ibrox (what eventually became the Centenary Stand) - can any of the old timers recall if you could just wander in under the cover from the Celtic End or was it a separate ticketed area?

Baxter returned the following season, when they beat us 2-1 after being a goal down at HT; the Scottish MSM went typically overboard, hailing Baxter's Messianic abilities, when all along he was just a very naughty boy. The return fixture for that was the 'Callaghan' game.

Rember this game as if it was yesterday.Melrose(11) scored on his debut........little did we know.

A few us ended up in stand in the picture, spending most the first half being chased around it before climbing a fence at half time, mamaging to get into the terrace next to it.
looks like Mike Conroy at the back :)
