Took this still from an article about the SFA wanting the Irish Tricolor removed, I'm assuming this is a still of the offending flag :arrr:

Govan has never ever been hun central.

Anyways The Plaza which was next to McNee's - Now if you want to talk IRA there was a boozer that became 'ra Central.
I've been over to Glasgow many dozens of times, my routine is to stay in Jury's, hang around the city center and I like to walk out to CP from town, when we bring a lot of kids over we stay in Irvine, let them go to the large leisure center there. I drove past castlegreyskull once but other than that have never been near the area, always assumed it was a no go area for those from the good side.
Far from it!

Govan had two of the most prominent Celtic supporters' buses back in the day - Govan Emerald and Govan Brighton, the latter which left just behind the Govan stand at the snake pit if I'm not mistaken.

Two RC secondary schools too, I think - Saint Gerards and Saint Ants.

Also, the wine alley I am led to believe was pretty much a catholic/second generation Irish ghetto when it was there. Tommy Coyne being its most famous son in recent years.

I'm sure someone will correct me on at least one of the above points, but the fact is clear that it was far more populated with us than it was with them.

By contrast, we have Brig'ton on our doorstep and by my neck of the woods in Dennistoun/Barrowfield, there were plenty of huns. The Louden and The Duke - both major hun shops - were a stones throw from my house. :boik:

Calton aside, there always seem to be plenty of huns around Parkhead. Unfortunately, Parkhead's most famous recent footballing son, raised literally opposite the gates of the old jungle/Celtic end, was one Eein Feergisin!!! :boik: :boik: :boik:
