Forgive the indulgence but my hometown club played the mighty RM the same year as we did and two of the guys that played including the guy that scored in the home and away leg against them lived either side of me within 500 yds.

That's not the 1-4 defeat. This was a 3-1 win in Sept 1979

You're right St Anthony

remember being at this game but for some daft reason me and my mate sat behind this goal where Conroy scored (it had the benches) even though it was obviously Hibs end because we were just wearin ordinary green and white scarves. Jumped up when Celtic scored and they were not too happy - think we had to leave well before the end and get back round other side of ground.

If you look the fans on the side terracing, they're not jumpin up and down - Celtic fans used to stand on that one too but Hibs reclaimed it (Its where new stand is at Easter Road and where new Hibs choir go) and Celtic fans got punted into end behind the goal.

At the top of the page where its now McStay, there used to be one of Dalglish wearing a dark green top, I've always wanted it but could never find it on any retro tops website.

Looks like Lansdowne Road, so I'm guessing at some testimonial against the republic
