never really see any other pics from that match.. always wondered about the terrace/stand in the background as it appears to merge into the hillside. Interesting article on Dukla here... Dukla History

Not Brown's greatest fan but appreciate his good points - Tell the guy to know his history before engaging mouth as his "not one of us " has never been the way Celtic operates despite us all the kidology ,his argument is pish and he is a fud.
It's because of Brown's tattoo. Won't give him credit for anything. I'm a big fan of Brown, but that's not the only reason I defend him. To be fair, the guy thinks Samaras is constantly pish (even some on here can admit it's not constant) and that we should look at signing a proven SPL striker - like Kris Boyd.
Whats this about Brown's tattoo? Does he have king billy painted on his arse? Can't say it would bother me, one can't help what you are born into, it's all fate really, at least he saw the light and renounced the darkside

Great day out.
Bit of a howler from the organisers......pipe band on the pitch before the game stood in front of the celtic supporters to play the national anthem.
Didnt go down too well.

Johnny Doyle, second goal in 2-0 win over Madrid 1980
Loved the away strip from that season: all green, with a chalk-stripe and white V-neck on the shirt... it's my second favourite after the jade geen/black Italian looking number.

EDIT: Think we only wore all-green in the return leg against RM; it would seem the shorts were normally white.
The away kit that season was green shirt with white wing collar. The v neck with the white pin stripe came in season 82-3.

These tattoo stories kill me.

Jock Stein, Bertie Peacock and Murdo MacLeod all reputed to have King Billy tattoos.

If only King Billy was that popular

Loved this strip! team group 86-87 (you can tell by the league trophy in front).

back row: Baillie, Aitken, McInally, Latchford,, Bonner, O'Leary, Whyte, McGugan.
middle: Davie Hay, Jimmy Steele, Mark Smith, Shepherd, Dougie McGuire, Ronnie Coyle, Paul Chalmers, Dugald McCarrison(?), John Traynor, not sure of other two kids or white haired guy in trackie next to physio.

Front: Bobby Lennox, :worthy: Judas :nono: Provan, McGhee, W MStay, P McStay, McGrain, MacLeod, McClair, Grant, Burns, Archdeacon.

Paul Chalmers ------- - Poss Sandy Fraser, Steve Kean  ,Daft Anton ,No sure maybe Barney McGhee, White hair next to Scott is Kelman the Chief Scout of the time.

Somebody really should have called out Peter the Pointer on the hair ffs.

Judas ,McLair even Dingus - Light years ahead of the present incumbents - In the case of Judas and McLair a different level of forward play altogether.
They're all touching each other's legs apart from Judas!

league decider v St.Mirren 1982?
Definitely.

That's George McCluskey putting us 1-0 up - watched by Billy Stark in St Mirren No8 shirt - and it was a great day!

We should have clinched the league against St Mirren two games earlier on the May bank holiday Monday afternoon (you don't get those games any more) but we drew 0-0 in the rain and then lost 3-0 at Tannadice before clinching it on on final day 3-0.

That is the lad. I'm not sure how he reacted to celtic working with the gaa on a coaching initiative earlier this year. :cuckoo:

looks like Tom Mcadam's header-despite McLuskey's presence in this shot. Big Tom scored some important goals for us. A true hunskelper too.
