Many of you will have seen this image before, what was the context of the shot? Assuming Bobby Lennox and his wife/girlfriend in CP, looks like they robbed som of the building materials for their extension?

Not Celtic related but there was a Dutch actor that could pass for Wim's brother (looks wise) and for the life of me I can't think of his name which will come between me and a nights sleep. Any suggestions?
you thinking of the guy who played van der Valk?... no?

Just to add to the joys of playing on Lesser Hampden it was closed down for a while as it was contaminated with Chromium :o - Fire in Rosebury which was also contaminated (think Jim 62 said it was Chromium as well) - They sure knew how to look after your Health and Safety in those days.
Match was
22Sep 1973 v Queen's Park Strollers,
Second Eleven Cup 1st Round.
Celtic won 5-1
Deans 3, Davidson 2.
Cheers for that  - At least I got the ground right.

OK, I see McDonald, Quinn, McCluskey, Deans, Wison & Davidson. (L to R top & bottom.) Who are the others?
Things to do and places to go so last one for today - Better have at least one more CL point on return.

Back Row - L to R - Roddy McDonald, Frank Welsh, Denis Connaghan, Brian McLaughlin, jimmy Quinn and Jackie McNamara Snr.

Front Row - L to R - Pat McCluskey, Dixie Deans, Paul Wilson, Vic Davidson and Kevin McCool.

Don't know much about McCool and doubt he ever played for the First team.

No idea about the game but must be about 1973?

Having played on and usually failed on :( that park a good few times I am sure it is Lesser Hampden - It has an old dirt track up to the pavilion which is really an old converted farmhouse - Lesser Hampden was built on a farm and they kept the farmhouse and adopted it as the dressing rooms - Hopefully they have improved a bit inside nowadays. :ffs:

Is that definitely McLaughlin between Connaghan and Quinn??
Ffs you are offline for a day or two and some carrot steals your log in :bawman: and makes a complete arse of you by not being able to identify Brian McLaughlin.

Off all the ones to get wrong!!!! :ffs: - Too tall, wrong build and doesn't even look like Brian - Wept Jeez!!!

CB not for the first or last time makes a complete and utter :carrot: of himself - :klunk:  :davieweir: :surrender: :keepdigging: :carpark:

:getmecoat:

Brucie Bonus time - Will only be answered tomorrow (more likely Friday :) ) if we have a successful trip otherwise Roon ye's
;)

Which of the players in the pic in later life won a medal for bravery?

Which of the players in the pic could only spoke Gaelic until he was 5?

pd1978 is not allowed to answer and to help neither of the answers is Rod the Plod who would seem the most likely candidate?
Think Denis Connaghan couldn't speak English. Seem to rememeber Terry Dick impressing us with that.

No idea about bravery award although Paul Wilson was due one for the abuse he took against the deid co.
st.a is correct with Denis Connaghan - He didn't speak engerlish until he was 5 and went to Primary School.

Re the bravery medal - It is also Connaghan - He won it for stopping a post office raid many moons ago - Think it was around Linwood area - Will check that.

He is also one of those players who signed professionally for Celtic twice.

Thanks Paul.
And what a truly decent guy Denis is too. Had the opportunity of speaking to him at the launch and he was humble and thankful for being invited... And he had massive goalie hands :-D

As for McCool, he moved back over to Derry and became a mechanic. Still works in a garage over there.
