I'm sure that's Highbury....David O'Leary's testimonial :ponder:

I'm sure Johnston scored then went off then went back on again.

Things must be improving because a few years ago I couldn't have bared to look at that pic :ffs:
It is David O 'Leary's Testimonial. Big Rambo got the other goal if my memory serves me right.
Charlie Nic hung his head in the centre circle as we sang 'We don't need you anymore.'

My first trip outside Scotland. :gavbhoy: Big sidey in Trafalgar square at 8am was a sight for the commuters. Police trying to tactfully withdraw a tricolour draped down the high end of the square that had a phrase not particularly welcome in London in the middle of a bombing campaign. :twitch: Japanese tourists buying scarves and you could see them thinking 'never saw any of this in the tourist guides.

I liked Alfie Conn - I thought he did us a good turn and for a hun he fairly tried against those feckers.
i know he was out of favour at Spurs, and when and official told him"there's jock he want to sign you" he was happy as he thought was jock....wallace !!! :rocker: :suspect:

Correct. No tv footage for that ad ( fortunately). I recall loads of scarves being thrown at the third goal :nono: an abject display, but Went on to win the league. There s footage on YouTube of this game (hun personal footage) if youre a massochist... :blueoyster2:
Really?

If nothing else it might confirm JJ's version of things.

No sure I want to revisit that day though. It is one of my most miserable old firm experiences. Probably even more miserable than the 5-1 game, because despite the scoreline, we didn't play as badly that day and you knew what was happening pretty early on.

The 3-0 game was just the feeling that it took too long to put us out of our misery that day, but it was just everything about it.

Utterly miserable. I remember trudging up the Broomloan Road, huddled with cold and getting saturated en route to the bus.

Horrible.

The Janefield Street riot game where we surrendered the league to a dodgy McCoist goal if I recall, was another horrible, depressing old firm. Final score was 1-1.

Despite what was at stake, the attendance was about 50,000 in a ground that at the time held 67,000 and nothing really got going. The atmosphere was flat as a pancake for an old firm.
I bow to no one in the sheer misery of that day. A friend of mine worked for Fine Fare who sponsored the league that year. He got me and a pal 2 tickets for the game......

......in the main stand surrounded by huns.

Got our own back at the Ne-erday game that season though and went on to win the league.

If he played football as good as he could stand up to huns we would have had a decent player there.
