Can't finish without Bernie.
Middlesbrough and Celtic legend (well, that's Bernie Slaven taken care of). Next to some Aussie chancer!

One got to play for the club of the other's dreams.

Make me angry every time I think of Marko Viduka and how he took "the Celtics" for a ride.

Couldn't wait to work his ticket out of here, to bigger clubs like Leeds, Newcastle and Boro :nono:

Bernie would walked up the road to play for us

That game is from January 1975. 3 -0 to our old rivals.

Scored at the minis aswell ,and I remember him doing a mad celebration
whher he dived and stuck the nut on the ground, maybe against the dons.

That must have been some job covering the pitch in straw in the early 60s to make sure the games went ahead where there was snow and ice.
Think that's snow piled up on the left and snow or ice around the track.

Check the bow in the bar. Wonder how many goals that caused.

Was the goal against the diets not a deflection. Was at that game, we lost 2-1 iirc

The deflected goal was the equaliser in a 2-1 win at Tynecastle. Lubo scored the winner in the last minute.

Big Jock used to call his pal Norrie Innes (an ex Clyde player whom I think you have met CI) who had to quit the game due to injury - Norrie became one of the bosses at R J McLeod and ultimately the MD - Anyways Jock would call Norrie and Norrie would send along a squad of men to help lay it down and then come back again to lift it.

Norrie is known to a good few on here and is still an Executive Season Ticket holder who goes to all the CP games - One of Life's Good Guys.

Jock and him actually hoodwinked the huns into thinking one vital game at Celtic Park was definitely off and had no chance off being on and that Jock had sent the Celtic players home the day before without even light training - The huns fell for it and Norrie and his men worked through the night to ensure the game was on and the huns firstly got a surprise the game was on and secondly got suitably pumped for their troubles. :rocker:

Jock Stein. :worthy:

That used to be the first thing you saw when you walked through the old main door.

I asked where it was last year when I done the tour as it wasn't on display anywhere. I was told it was in storage and that they rotate the display regularly.

The last time I'd saw it it had a crack in it so I wanted to make sure it had been repaired in the intervening 30 years. :)

I think it should have a place of honour in the new museum.

It hasn't been repaired which is why it hasn't been rotated*
