One of my favourite ever Celtic games. Rangers end was closed for renovation and we filled 80% of the rest of Ibrox. Atmosphere was tremendous.

I stayed in Govan then and the sight of thousands of fans marching down Helen Street after it towards our house was brilliant :ynwa: :ynwa: :ynwa:

By the way I put that press cutting on the wiki
love collecting scans of old newspaper clippings, thank you

For the historians, whats the story with RS, was he hit from the crowd?

from thecelticwiki... celticwiki
thank you for the information, I had it in my mind that the away match with Racing was in a stadium with a running track and that picture looked to me like a Scottish ground, thanks again for setting me straight.

A question for the experts, was this an original US type open plan design stadium with no roof or did someone just take the top off the model to see inside better? I'm asking this as someone who has witnessed the rain & cold a Saturday afternoon in CP can give you.
It's a model of the North Stand and the two corner sections. It never had a roof attached
to it. It also differs slightly from the first set of plans which only had a single exit on the
lower tier. As far as I'm aware it's still in the boardroom, is it not? It'd make a great Subbuteo
stadium.

There was another, much smaller, model that showed how the completed ground would look
and it had a black roof and red cladding!

Think that might be Donald Watt. Remember seeing that photo before but could be wrong. Initially thought it was Lesser Hampden but FLC has put us right.
Spot on TWG!

Donnie's son kindly sent me a few snaps for my book and the family made it to the launch. Really decent people
PD - Is Donald no longer with us ?

A night utterly engrained on my memory.
My late Da wrote to Dundalk for tickets and enclosed a cheque! When the tickets arrived the 12 year old me was beside myself with excitement.
We journeyed down over the border in my Da's old van with a couple of friends and Dundalk was heaving with Celtic supporters. The old boy and his mate spent the pre game period in Jimmy Mc Mahon's pub before we crossed the bridge to Oriel Park.
There was temporary 'terracing' made up of piles of gravel and sand into which we sank as the game progressed.
Celtic really laboured that night and I clearly remember Danny Mc Grain halving a boy in two on the sideline near us - Danny was playing left back night night with Sneddon on the right I think.
Despite the tension it was a magical night seeing Celtic in Ireland.
My first European night.

I got this snap with the full line-up underneath, otherwise I'd have been stumped with a few of these faces...
Not seen that one before Paul.

CB will be on to either name them or ask for the names
 Absolutely no chance - I can already see players I don't know but will give it a go.

Back Row - L to R - McCluskey, Kenny ,Hall?, George ,Cesar, TG, ?, Hood ,Brian McLaughlin, Cattanach

Middle Row - L to R - Franchetti maybe? ,Watt, Cairney,Yogi, Gordon Marshall ,Williams, Davie, Irish Bhoy Lally? Big Fallon smiling :o Tommy Callaghan,Bobby Murdoch, Jimmy Quinn,?

Front Row - L to R - White, Macari, Jinky, Wallace, Bobby Lennox ,Stevie ,Vic Davidson, Danny, Stevie Hancock, Jim Brogan, Tommy O'Hara ,Paul Wilson.
