Bit different this one and not player or game based.

This is parish members of St. Bernadette's Motherwell with the Coronation Cup loaned by Celtic for a charity football match to raise funds in aid of a parish refurb.

Just wondered if there were any Motherwell/Craigneuk/Carfin Bhoys who might recognise anyone

Footage from in and around celtic park sometime in the mid 70's filmed using a super8 cine camera. This is the digitally restored version of my other video with some extra footage.

I came across this on youtube; it's amateur footage of Celtic in the 70's.
Thats some find .
Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand-up.....

I did wonder about the strips. When was it that they changed to using second strips at away grounds?
Seen this Vid a few times but never thought about what game it was, think its the 75-76 season against Ayr and if correct its no wonder the young bhoys were not interested in the game, they beat us 2-1.

Edit} This is a good vid which most of us have seen, watching it now and hear the lonesome boatman playing in the background, not staying in on a saturday night again

The game from that film was Celtic 1-2 Ayr on 24 April 1976.

That result with Rangers' win at Tannadice meant that they won the league that day. :rocker:

Out of interest I am sure I'm right in saying that Brotherhood of Man won the Eurovision song contest that night.

Save all your kisses for me right enough....

I dont think Hearts feature in any of the 6 pics JBC, dont know where you got your information from, the fourth pic is the 1937 Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen 2-1, wiki already have a similar panoramic view so need to add that one.

These are all pics from my digital Celtic collection so dont have the details only the pics, will have a look through my books and see if i can come up with anything about the other 5 photos.

Yogi,

That was a peein'wet day. Big fat DJ scored for the Huns before 3 o'clock because the game kicked off early.

Still remember listening to the old tranny when Bobby Stokes scored the winner for Southampton that day in the FA cup final

Robert Hannah in the pics !!!

Don't remember anything about the Ayr Utd game itself but remember as clear as day being stuck on a supporters bus on the way back coming through Shawlands.
Just lets say it was interesting.
On the following Monday we played our last game v Hearts at Tynecastle.
Celtic Wiki only gives the score, a 1-0 defeat, so i looked up London Hearts to find out the attendance that night, 8537.
No segregation, needless to say, the saner ones in our small support that night left early.
:suspect:
Wise move.
Never been so glad to see Haymarket station.
