Will you look at the lads on the roof, how did they get up there and were they charged admission
Dunfermline's record attendance 1968, 27,000 although it was reckoned 30,000 plus were in.

The old man was there and said he was terrified. Ground over crowded, fans on roofs and up floodlights.

Mental :cuckoo:
My Uncle :worthy: took me through - I was lobbed over the wall and sat on the track the whole game - My Ma God Bless Her Soul was going off her nut with worry.

What did you do when the final whistle blew, to be in front of a crowd that large can't have been safe?

It was ok in those days of no Heath and safety. Some of the crushes at places like muirton park were unbelievable. I also though I was a gonner at Nottingham .

The troops celebrate 2-1 win at Ibrox in 1983.

Was the first Ne'erday win at Ibrox since 1928 or something !
First since 1921. We had won there in 1945 but that was Southern League and didn't count (cos most of Celtic team were at war and the taxdodgers were probably enjoying non-combatant status)

Can't remember

My Uncle was behind me - I assume he grabbed me back over the wall before the whistle went - I got home in anycase.

Sorry this isn't better quality but it tells the story of the how the legendary Welsh rugby star Phil Bennett was invited to a trial with Celtic as a teenager.

Phil in the hoops

On this day Celtic drew 2-2 at Ibrox (Roy Aitken 2) with Wales beating Scotland at Murrayfield with Bennett scoring one of the greatest tries of all time.

I would have thought its from the 4-2 win a Ibrox -especially with the don't go charlie banner. The new year game was very dark. Seems pretty light there. I was at both games and especially remember the banner.
