The troops celebrate 2-1 win at Ibrox in 1983.

Was the first Ne'erday win at Ibrox since 1928 or something !

Not too sure if it is Jimmy Delaney or Jimmy McMenemy, I'll let that to the experts among you. What amazes me about that picture is that he looks nearly as old as me dad who is eighty. I'm 50 and still play a bit of indoor and I like to describe myself as a bit like a fat Brad Pitt  , others would leave out the Brad Pitt bit. Based on that picture I still hold out hope that I could be the solution to our striker problem :arrr:
I still play 5's once a week in the Gorbals sports centre (take note Urchin !)

I'm coming up for 48 and don't know how long I can last. The day after I feel 68 ! Love of the game keeps me going and I don't understand professionals who retire early.

This thread has given me a great deal of pleasure these last few years. Well done to GR for starting it and all who post.

My scanner is knacked so when a new one is purchased I will have more to add.

I said way back this was a potential 1000 pager. Won't be long now....

:worthy:

Think that was the May 83 game which ended 4-2

Can you confirm what was Neilly's last season with the club in the backroom team ?

I reckon it was late 80's but a mate says early 90's :ponder:

Dunfermline's record attendance 1968, 27,000 although it was reckoned 30,000 plus were in.

The old man was there and said he was terrified. Ground over crowded, fans on roofs and up floodlights.

Mental :cuckoo:

The wheelchair lads play next to us in our sports centre and we often laugh about it being a natural progression for us as we head into our seventies

My Uncle :worthy: took me through - I was lobbed over the wall and sat on the track the whole game - My Ma God Bless Her Soul was going off her nut with worry.
