Remember this clear as day.

Smarting from the LC disaster, we humped them 5-1,

Still remember crashing into those concrete barriers in the east enclosure as our goals went in.
Wiki says 33, 000 in firhill that day.
I'd say at least 30, 000 Celtic fans.

Heard that too from one of the Dunns who were involved with Clyde.

ex Dunn and Moore van bhoy for my sins.
Dunsade
Solripe
Polar Cola ?

Are they still going ?
Solripe did the lemonades for the shops.

Dunn and Moore did the booze and lemonade for the pubs/off sales/hotels.

Solripe was at the bottom of Arcadia Street and owned by Dunn and Moore - Dunn and Moore was Blackfaulds Place (now flats) at the bottom of Abercrombie Street but once inside the depot you could get from one to the other.

They are still on the go out Cambuslang way - The Dunns of that era Joe. Chris and Billy are all dead now - A son and and a nephew Chris Dunn and Gerry Dunn got involved in a management buy out about 2000.

The original Joe Dunn the Founder was a real Celtic man and a real character who used to pal about (aka known as go on the lash and disappear for days on end :ffs: ) with my Great Granda in the East End - I only found this out fairly recently when of my sisters got heavily into the famiy tree research.

Joe Miller's goal against the huns.

I remember my father went absolutely mental when JM scored, and subsequently nearly had my eye out opening champagne afterwards.

Did Denis connaghan not work as a rep for them. You would of course have known the fish RIP who I'm sure worked there for a few years before his career in market trading.

We were pish then and the decline was on - Have actually heard it discussed that that goal won us the Cup but probably delayed the end of the Kelly/White feckers dynasty by a few years - I think there is an element of truth in that as Joe's goal let them off the hook a while longer - If the huns had got the treble it would have been murder but on the other hand we may not have had to wait as long and suffered the early 1990's which were torturous and we may have won some trophies during that spell.

Before that game blue nose colleagues were openly saying they didn't care about the result as a win for Celtic would make the Celtic board think the poor season had simply been a blip. At the time I believed them and they were correct.

Such a pity they were not as good at seeing through Murray, White et al.

A memorable day that was. Celtic won 9 in a row at Brockville and Man City relegated Man Utd.
