Whos the number 7 that would narrow it down.
Is it Hampden 75 League Cup final v huns.

remember the police used to insist on those daft wee barriers behind the goal at ever OF game, whether it was it was Mordor, CP or Hampden.

The crush barriers are narrow ones , so its not CP; by 77 Hampden had the proper cage fence up (where Dalglish lost his medal), so reckon that's the front of the Celtic end there before that time.

The Celtic strip makes it 74-77 but if Danny Mcgrain is not celebrating it has to be a Rangers goal and I reckon it was maybe League Cup final in 75 where we lost 1-0 (and Harry Hood no7?)
Being born in 84 I'm obviously no expert on games from that time and I haven't a clue what game this is but surely the crowd behind the goals is a bit sparse for it to be a game vs the huns, particularly a final?

I've seen this one before and I'm 99% certain it's Danny's testimonial against Man U.

It isn't a huns game as both teams were always required to come out together.

The hungarian flag is flying as we played DVTK at this time so it fits in with 1980.

Definitely 75 LCF against the deid huns.

Crowd was only 57,000 due to unpopular 1pm kick off.

No need to reverse the pic.

In some small way Johnston assisted in mounting up the debt and killing them. They're now deid no matter what MSM media say.

Didn't know that at the time though

Being born in 84 I'm obviously no expert on games from that time and I haven't a clue what game this is but surely the crowd behind the goals is a bit sparse for it to be a game vs the huns, particularly a final?
Thanks to St Anthony for backing me up.

I can understand why Stephane thought it couldn't be Deid Co game -gaps now would be unforgivable but then all the grounds were too large and crowds were dipping in mid 70s;

The only thing that had changed in any of the Glasgow grounds was new main stand at CP.

Hampden hadn't changed since the 60s when they put the roof on the huns end. There was room for 120,000 when Scotland played England or we played Deid Co in 73 Scottish cup final. But 57,000 rattling around in a ground that could take twice that meant there was usually lots of space at the front - especially at Hampden where everyone toward the back of the biggest terrace in the ground; and after you'd climbed a mountain of stairs to get up there from the turnstiles you didn't really want to walk another mile to get down the front.

By the early 80s Ibrox had changed to a square stadium and we got the Broomloan, half the enclosure and almost half the main stand - and when they were really crap, we got a slice of the Govan stand too. Happy days!

Thanks for that.

Quite surprised to learn that attendances for those games would have been so low back then - well low relative to stadium capacity anyway.

Just had a sneak at the Celtic Wiki and this picture is included among the others covering Danny's testimonial. We had the experiment of names on the back, and I can only assume that the quality of the picture and the distance from the subject makes that seem not obvious.
