For a second I thought we had signed Steve Staunton, along with Paul Elliot & Dariusz Dziekanowski but we got Mike Galloway instead.

Posted a picture of the Eduardo dive yesterday and this still clearly shows what Boruc thought about it. Why this anger if he brought him down? Went to work today and spent another 45m fighting about it with my Arsenal mate, still won't admit he dived.

Stadium five minutes from my dad's house, it is the home of junior football in Limerick and was reopened that night with new floodlights. Big crowd of nearly 9,000 people attended, including myself.

Any of you at that match, any insights as to what happened that day from your own point of view?
I was there and IIRC about 4 or 5 of our lads went on the pitch first with a ball and farted about
scoring goals and celebrating like there was no tomorrow and the huns hurting as they were after
a late losing goal could not handle the extra pain and charged down the pitch to sort Timmy
but Timmy charged on as well. :boxer: :boxer:

The rest is history

Pictures I've seen seem to indicate the police charging the Celtic support, would that be a fair comment or did they have a go at the huns as well?

Surely the club can afford an official photographer? Besides looking good, scoring hatricks, and running like a madman at the Barca defence, Sammy has to take the pictures as well?

Polis fecked off before the end of ET -either cos overtime was finished or they thought the trouble would be outside.
A few times before that game there had been loads of trouble as sick huns would attack us coming out of the ground
The 1974 Dryborough CF was a full scale riot
Anyway with hardly any polis inside the ground a few wee boys came on from the enclosure and Celtic end to watch the presentation of the trophy
The huns came on and started to attack them
No way was that going down without the Celtic support protecting their own
Polis came back in on horses at the hun end and charged up to where the post match swapping of gifts was taking place
They they charged back down again to separate the sides
Seem to recall running fights all the way back in to the city centre

I always remember the wee red headed guy who was first man in vinegarhill style taking on four sevconites at once. I was blitzed that day and admit I like many others was trying to get on the pitch. Not sure what I was going to do when I got there as I couldn't fight sleep.
The police decided to have a low key approach trackside at the final whistle which enabled some young celts the opportunity to celebrate by kicking the ball into the net at the rangers end. This was proceeded by the goalscorer participating in a religious act which only served to inflame the tatterdemalion hordes behind the goal. There then followed a sea of fortified wine bottles sailing through the air most of which rained down on those standing at the front. A pitch invasion followed as the young celts were pursued across the field by the outraged blue men. Cue an invasion by a motly crew of drunks, loonies and would be martyrs to defend the faith. The result was probably a draw, although friendly fire certainly accounted for a massive sevco casualty list.
I often wonder what happened to that generation of celtic fans. A massive amount of lunatics around in those days

Whatever it is, love'll fix it...

I remember walking back down the Gallowgate after old firm games at Parkhead, towards the town when I was young, and getting near Glasgow Cross and hearing the roar go up... "here they come!"

Cue everyone with weans shielding them from flying bottles, and almost everyone else running full pelt into the hun...
