Not an ipod, smart phone or tablet in sight. Those were the days when the faithful actually watched the match.
No women either.

Those were the days :)
Is that no a wee wummin' in the front row? (Note: No thought police in them days!)

There was a great sense of innocence in those pictures from 1967, probably impossible to replicate again.
That's the outfit I went to Lisbon with. That bus driver was a sound lad, took Celtic to his heart. :rocker:
"Went to Lisbon" on my part and :worthy: on yours.

Who else on here was at Lisbon?

Kerryjim and Torq - Must be a few other lucky, lucky Bhoys or Ghirls?
I was four years old in 1967, couldn't afford to go to see Celtic until the late eighties. My parish priest who was responsible for me becoming a Celtic supporter hitched his way across Europe to get to the final and said masses to pay for food and lodgings along the way. He had some fabulous pictures of his travels to the final including one picture taken with General Franco somewhere in Spain. A very colorful man he was with a great sense of humor and a total Celtic nut. If he had to chose between the Pope or Jock Stein, El Papa wouldn't have got a look in!

When I said he was a very colorful man I meant my parish priest not General Franco, I read that and could see me being banned for being a facist :Bye:

I appreciate your comment but as I said at the start the real thanks should go to the lads that uploaded the great majority of these stills originally. I suffer from insomnia and over the years have spent many a late hour trawling through dozens of sites relating to Celtic and have tended to gather any image that interests me. I have programmes, books, plus my own photographs I took at CP which I have started to scan but the best stuff is definately already out there. Thank you again.

I'm from Limerick City born and bred in the parish of Garryowen, where Sean South didn't come from if you know the song! I'm a Bhoy since 1972 due as I said before to the efforts of my PP plus at our Christian Brother school the brother that trained us in hurling noted that I had nothing to offer the game and suggested that I stick to the townie pursuit of soccer. He also got the spoke in for Celtic so all I was missing was a nun to push me towards the Bhoys to complete the holy trinity.

Wouldn't have picked out Tardelli or Charlie from that picture, Nicholas must have been on the steroids given how puffed up his face looks :ponder:
