28th October 1978
2-0 defeat at Tynecastle.
Drew Busby got them both.

I was there, up behind that goal, which is where Celtic fans got stuck.
Before that, mid-70s, Celtic fans used to arrive early and take over the covered terracing - The Gorgie - at the side and there was non-stop mayhem inside and outside the ground.

Versus Mini huns. Date tag with photo obviously wrong.
I would say that is Donald Ford scoring for the Diets :boik: at Celtic Park if that helps?
Being a bit anorakky, but Fallon in goal with the new 'Jungle' narrows it down to to 1968/69-1970/71.

66-71 I'd think.

Was that Jungle not redone in 1966.

Apologies if wrong...

Was bugging me so checked - It looks as if it was a game at CP on 8th November 1969 as opposed to 8th November 1968.

We lost 2-0 with Jensen and Ford scoring for the Diets.

IIRC, the 'Jungle' was re-covered in 1968/69.

28th October 1978
2-0 defeat at Tynecastle.
Horrible day.

As a 17 year old I lost my first job for leaving early to catch the supporters bus for this game.

Had my scarf with 70 metal badges whipped off my neck by a fellow tim in the Celtic end.

Beat 2 - 0 by the jambos.

Got home to tell my ma that I was jobless and wouldn't be getting dole money for 6 weeks. :Bye:

Covered again 2 years later, or the same covering?

I think the huns end was covered in '68-'69.

I'll see if the wiki knows...

Edit. Yup. There's a pic of the lions with the big cup in front of the 'new' jungle, so it wasn't any later than '67

I'm sticking with 1968/69... for now; because I remember after the SC sf's in 1969 (Huns beat Aberdeen 6-1 at CP) the level of devastation they had wreaked on the new jungle toilets.

Nicking scarfs off other Celtic fans seemed to a common thing then.

I got done too. Stolen at Fir Park after we'd beaten them in a cup replay. Anyone else get done?
