View from the Huns End at title clincher 88 v Dundee, only 60,000 there (coughs) :suspect:
this wasn't the 88 league clincher against Dundee. Wrong hoops...
Opening game of the 86/87 season for sure. I lost my dad and wee brother at the game. Totally shat it as I was only 8 years old. Then I realised I was in a seat in the Main Stand and they were just away to the toilet. Didn't stop me greetin' like a baby though(or 8 year old bhoy).

It was roastin hot that day. The day we clinched the title ('88) was a dullish day weather wise, plus there were hundreds if not thousands on the track behind the goals.

Didn't have two pennies to my name that day.
:suspect:
Stuff it, i'll walk it from Castlemilk and hope for the best.
Saw the full second half from the away section as all the exit gates were lying open.

Found some home programmes from 1969; the following are pics from the programme listed:

5 August 1969 - Friendly v Leeds

Posted Image

9 August 1969 - Airdrie LC

Posted Image

16 August 1969 - Raith Rovers LC

Posted Image

30 August 1969 - St. Johnstone, League*

*The attendance for this match was 66,000... St. Johnstone were playing some great football under Willie Ormond; IIRC it finished 2-2.

13 September 1969 - Hibs, League*

4 October 1969 - Raith Rovers, League

Just to follow up on this. I was 100% sure that this was the the opening game of the 86/87 season against Dundee. The weather was great and fits the weather of the pic perfectly. I can always mind when Chairman, Dom Devlin, came round in a black car to unfurl the league flag and the fans signing "Albert Kid, Albert Kid, Albert kid"

I'm also sure that this game was the first time "Ohh ahhhh up the Ra" was ever sung by the Celtic fans.

I was also a bit unsure as I thought the new Celtic end wasn't until the winter of 1986.....But I was wrong...Worked started just before the 85/86 season ended. Celtic played Dundee, I still have this game on VHS....It was a midweek game and always mind in the footage the boards up at the Celtic end.

Wed 2nd April, 1986.
