George Connelly what a waste of talent.
I may be wrong but I think that is Jimmy ? Quinn
It's definitely George Connelly and it's the League Cup game from 15th August 1970 when Connelly wore the number 9 shorts in a 2-2 draw.

Cheers, that's what threw me the no 9 on the shorts.

Jinky v the Huns, 1968; we lost 4-2.

Is it not the League Cup game we won 1-0? :ponder: That picture is certainly on the
Celtic wiki on the LC page - linkage....

I think that's the 1955 Scottish Cup Final against Clyde.
First SC Final to be televised live.
Walsh scored for Celtic, Archie Robertson equalised direct from a corner in the last minute.
Tommy Ring (a big Celtic fan) scored the only goal of the midweek replay to give Clyde the second of their three cups.

View from the Huns End at title clincher 88 v Dundee, only 60,000 there (coughs) :suspect:
this wasn't the 88 league clincher against Dundee. Wrong hoops...

it isn't.......far too bright a day.......that day wee clinched the league it was not sunny at all.....plus....thats Mo Johnson right on the goalie with the mop of blonde hair.....plus....if u look at the terracing...u will see the isles in the celtic end are clear. Also look at the celtic player on the far right of the pic facing the action....Murdo Macleod. anyway. this looks like a blazing hot sunny day......the league clincher was a fairy overcast day.

I'm sure we wore it in a European Cup match. St. Etienne maybe ? :ponder:
My older brother was telling me Morton once played us wearing a lime green strip
he said when they ran onto the park celtic fans thought it was Celtic .Anyone remember that .
Wires crossed; when Celtic ran on to the park in that strip, they got pelters because everyone thought it was Morton... until Morton ran out.

EDIT: We did wear all-white v. St Etienne earlier that season; there is a youtube vid of that game.

Otis - hope you don't think I'm being pedantic but Chalmers is in there so it can't be 71/72 as he left in May 1971.

Could it be the Glasgow cup final of May 1971 ?

By the way I have no recollection in Clyde ever playing us in red.
It is 71/72, but it's Morton v. Clyde. Posted Image

EDIT: ... and it's a colour pic. :ffs: You'll find me in the specs thread in General.

Was this game not the first game of the 86-87 season ,when we played Dundee and won 1-0 . If my memory serves me correct Le Petit Merde scored with a header . I think this may have been the first game of the new celtic end with fully covered roof?

Albert Kidd was brought on with a few mins to go to go and brought the house down.

You can also tell its not the 88 clincher as the fans are not spilled onto the track at the Celtic End.

Edit: If it's of any use, I have a bundle of these magazines covering some of the period from December 1960-April 1962; each mag contains full line-ups and scorers for matches played.
