Brilliant picture.
That's the "scoreboard" in the background it all its glory.
Clearest pic i've seen of it.

The only photograph i can remember seeing showing the scoreboard at the Celtic end.

For me one of the rarest images seen on here which im pretty sure came from the Moch collection :worthy: Had to go back a few years to quote this other one showing the scoreboard at the other end. Celtic end before the roof went up and showing the scoreboard which has left me wondering if there was ever 2 scoreboards? or did they move it to the other end when the roof was going up.

I take it that was after the Hibs Scoreboard or was it first to have an electronic scoreboard they have listed in their honours ?

It's definitely McDonald, no doubt about that.

Looks like the terracing is the old hun end at CP with scoreboard - although not sure why the scoreboad appears see through. :ponder:

As for the game, who knows - not enough clues - although might be Ayr United in March 1938 or Oct 1938, assuming Ayr played in white and black back then, and the paucity of crowd would suggest it was unattractive opposition.

Agree with the player and circa 1932-36 going by our socks.

Appears to be the Celtic end in the background and would guess against Clyde although their socks dont match up :( poor crowd if that is Clyde and the Celtic end.

This game looks like a good shout TWG

The meeting of the Glasgow East End rivals attracted a very poor attendance at Celtic Park yesterday afternoon, probably owing to the fact that little depended on the result = 2000

Another important image showing the Celtic end and a empty or even a newly built scoreboard.

Yeah you're right.

Used to be the fair play stand I think.

George Fox stand is the big one.
This is Big Roy putting The Celts 2 up in September 1982 (3 days after victory in Amsterdam). Game finished 2-2, cost Celtic the championship. (Sorry)
I was at that game. Went up on the old Football Special (remember them?) from Queens Street Station. Always travelled to away games that way before I got my first car. It was absolutely heaving. The only time I had to stand for the whole journey with the singing (to the tune of Tulips from Amsterdam) "2 -1 in Amsterdam"
