Fantastic photo st. anthony :worthy:

Dixie was a hero at the time he played for us but I think history seems to reflect him as inferior to the likes of McAvennie and Cadete (who most resembled his style). That's wrong. Dixie's record stands up to comparison against either of those two. Of the three, I'd say Deans was the best ........... and that's saying something.

Agree - great photo of a very fine player. Just ask any Hibs defender of that time how good he was. How many hat-tricks did he get against them? Three that I can recall ( two on consecutive Saturday's). The fans really loved Dixie.

Remember that game really well.

This was the follow-up to the 4-1 defeat to Thistle in the LC final.

Hard to imagine thirsting for revenge against the Jags

We blew them away 5-1 IIRC

Edit. Dixie heading that past John Hansen? (I realise CJB will be off to Inverness. No ticket here :nono: )

Is this picture from March 1996, Big Yogi's goal for 1-1? :ponder:

I'm sure that's the game where there was a scrap inside the huns goal in the 2nd half and Charlie Nic, co-commentating said there was a "medley" goin on in the Ranjurs goal!

The quality of that image for it's age is outstanding CI :worthy:
Think that's Celtic player Pat Gilhooly at the end of the front row at the left next to Dan McArthur.

Deans scores against Ayr 1972. Used to stand occasionally in that wee corner next to the Jungle and the Celtic end.[IMG]Posted Image[/IMG]
