:ponder: I'm confused!

That's clearly Dundee United, but that's not Tannadice...

Help me out anyone?...
The wee enclosure that you see is now the George Fox stand. In those days it was terracing.
Yeah, I remember the terracing, but don't remember it being so basic. I recall just a thin little strip of a about ten steps or so, but they look like they are actually sitting on the byline there...

Plus the strip dates the photo from 1983-85. I'm guessing '84.

I was at Tannadice around then and don't ever recall it looking like that.

Not disagreeing, just musing on how the memory must play tricks over time... :ponder:

Loving the old half/half ski tammys. Celtic and Spurs though?! :suspect:

Looks like the 2-2 draw from 82 to me. We had just beaten Ajax in Amsterdam and Utd had won away to PSV Eindhoven-heady days for Scotish football. The strip was introduced in 82. Loved that strip! Pretty sure by 84 it had CR Smith on as sponsors. A young Paul McStay scored a wonderful goal that day-but we ended up blowing a 2 goal lead-which was to cost us dear that season...

Date wise I think you might be right. Can't be any later than '83 due to lack of sponsor. I didn't even notice that first time round.

Just above the Spurs one, is that what must be a very rare indeed Celtic/Millwall ski hat?

I don't exactly think we're a close cultural fit with them... That must have almost have been a one off... :suspect:

Don't forget those rats did us out of 10 years of laps of honour at Hampden
Watched the "Days of Our Lives" Sky programme about huns cup-winners cup win. greig, jardine and johnnstone were discussing the campaign. Jardine said, "At that time laps of honour weren't allowed at Hampden in games involving Celtic or rangers". Was shouting at Jeff Stelling to ask the c..t why ? Same reason they had to be presented with the ecwc in a tiny room in the Nou Camp.

:ponder: is that not the one they call the Jim McLean Stand now ?
Yeah you're right.

Used to be the fair play stand I think.

George Fox stand is the big one.
This is Big Roy putting The Celts 2 up in September 1982 (3 days after victory in Amsterdam). Game finished 2-2, cost Celtic the championship. (Sorry)

Shame on you for trying to ruin my childhood memories moch! The 7 year old me thought that Scotland were going to win the World Cup as that ball whizzed back out of the net while the Brazillian keeper was still looking for it.

See that wee bit of terracing down the side of the stand?

I seem to recall that stretching along the other half of that side of the pitch.
