However i must take you to task regarding the weather on Scottish Cup Final day 1985 dear sur.
It was in fact a scorcher i can confirm and the brows of scorers Provan and McGarvey were indeed mopped with sweat!

This is curious cos initially I was going to say it ended up a very sunny day by the time the trophy was presented but I thought my memory was playing tricks (the sun came out to celebrate the late victory etc etc). Am sure it was very heavy rain early afternoon though, no? :ponder:

My recollection is of damp, chilly weather. Sunny intervals but not much.

IIRC it didn't rain (unlike '77 final) and whilst it wasn't a scorcher it was quite warm

This Youtube clip shows BBC footage of Celtic end at half time during 85 cup final.

HA HA RAPID flag and shows just how overcrowded the terracing was

Archie also confirms it had been raining during the first half.

A young Divers???? Not sure, anyone
The second of three John Divers' to play for us. This was the 1930s version and father of the 1960s one. Neither were related in any way to the very first Divers from the 19th century.

The John Divers in the photo was the nephew of Patsy Gallacher and his son was obviously Patsy's great nephew.
