A very poignant photograph. I really do miss the ould Parkhead. The bhoys who played here would not accept defeat. They all knew what it meant to play for Celtic Football Club. God help any team that had the cheeks to score against us. Happy days.
Utter pish, especially when referring to the team that would have played at Celtic Park at the time this picture was taken.

Not everything that happened in the past was magic, not everything that is happening right now is terrible.
Sure, the years have made you bitter. :(

Was he made captain for the day on his debut ?
Yes he was. I've also realised why he looks slimmer than I remember. :nono:
Hi, my first post on here! Been lurking for a while ... love all these pics from when I used to go to the games, I haven't been since early eighties but these bring back happy days. Didnt he score an own goal that day? Also what a crowd for St. Mirren? it looks mobbed at the corner behind him!

Things are getting ridiculous at the moment - I fully appreciate that most of the football on offer at the moment is far from what it should be and with a history like ours, it is far too easy to look back and think about squash-buckling* and thrilling wins. - *EDIT - God knows what "squash-buckling" is but I bet its more fun than our current games  my mind meant swash-buckling!!

But having the early 1990s laid out as a time we should be harking back to as opposed to what he have today - madness

Even in great seasons like the centenary season, we dropped an awful lot of stupid points in the season - I wonder how living through that year on KDS would have been - demands for McNeill to be sacked after chucking away a 2-0 lead at home to Aberdeen and a 2-0 lead at Ibrox - home draws with Hibs.

Only ever seeing the good in the past and the negative in the present means you never get to enjoy anything new - it's not a good way to be.

What's big Yogi done to deserve such criticism :ponder:
I should probably retract that but either way my opinion remains the same - I never genuinely criticise Celtic players of the past in the public domain - Yogi is a bit of a moaner at the best of times but that is his way I suppose - He has a chip/boulder on his shoulder - I won't go into details on here but Yogi sees fit to criticise FAR,FAR better Celtic men than himself in front of Celtic Supporters then he is fair game in my eyes - Also he got pulled up by his fellow Lions for it and soon got his coat and did one. :Bye:

There are some ex Celts of the past who don't get on with each other (Ain't that right GR? ) but they don't let it out in the public domain.

Murdo Macleod had a go at Dom Sullivan during a q & a series in chryston bowling club a couple of years ago. Bang out of order IMO as Dom is a local guy and wasn't there to defend himself. I wasn't there either but heard from reliable sources. Considering also that the night was choc full of rangers fans murdo has went right down in my estimation. Why the need to have a go at a Celtic teammate in front of gers fans in his backyard I have no idea.

Shawfield?
Is it Shawfield ? Was only in it a couple of times and don't recognise it. Not many Scots teams play in stripes although Clyde did play in a similar kit for a couple of seasons in the late 60's.
