That goal is being scored into the Hun end at CP. Must have been prior to 1957 as no cover at the Celtic End. It's obviously a friendly against Arsenal. |

Correct. Had the photo been a few years later, the high flats in Millerston St would be next to the chimney stack. |

I love Parkhead on a warm sunny day. Cannot beat it, new season and a lush green pitch. |

Looks like unusual clothing for someone to be wearing as late as the 1970s!! Very strange . . .

The two Grey and Maroon coloured double-deckers on the left of the photo are Wishaw CSC (now defunct) (Young St Bus), and Wishaw Emerald CSC (still going) (Cross Keys Bus). The two double deckers from Wilsons of Carnwath always parked next to each other in that area. |

It's 1894 Clyde in the vertical stripes v St Mirren at Barrowfield Park: Clyde's first ground. See page 59 of Played in Glasgow for a more detailed explanation of the pic. The buildings at the other end of the pitch are still extant and are listed buildings. I reckon it must be one of the world's oldest football action shots. |

Why would Wolves be wearing a badge with a cannon on it? Only club I know that has a badge like that is the Gunners. |

That is 100% definitely Celtic Park. The missing floodlights went up in 59, the missing half roof on the Celtic End went up in 57. The Hayshed stand on the right (Precurser to the Jungle) went up in 29 and down in 68. Think that's Neil Mochan so that'd make it between 53 and 57. That would rule out Arsenal as the oppo too, also they had their white sleeves well before then tho it does look like their badge. |

The white sleeves would suggest it isn't Arsenal after all, perhaps Wolves had a Gunnerish type badge at that time, although was the Wolves game in the late 50's not to christen the floodlights? |

It may be Wolves, we played them in 54 and 59, the latter game was the official turning on of the floodlights, Neilly Mochan played in both games, but if any of these two I would go for 54 as it is clearly daytime in the photo and Neilly looks a bit 'fresher' as apposed to photos of his latter time at Celtic. Also the first ever floodlit match (v Wolves) we lost 2-0, we are scoring in the photo above. |

Wolves game was 59 to open the floodlights. It aint that game as it's before the roof went up in 57. |
