Johnny Doyle had a few kicks at him that day. Still couldn't stop him - out of shape and well past his best though he was. (Best not Doyle).
What year was that?
IIRC Best played a few games for Cork Celtic shortly afterwards and was very disappointing.
Best only played once against us in the league at Celtic park and we humped them 4-0
1980 i think.

I remember someone throw a bottle at best ,can't remember if it was Celtic park or Easter road ,and best picked it up to pretend to take a d,rink out of it which got a cheer. To be honest he was pretty disappointing playing wise though so would anyone be if they had his lifestyle!

Either St. Johnstone or Third Lanark.
I'm sure it's Third Lanark and the keeper may even be Evan Williams. I may be horribly wrong though.

Any old timers able to answer a question that's been bugging me?
When the roof went up in the Ex hun End in 1968 was the ex hun End enlarged?
When a roof goes up does the capacity usually go down, especially if it encroaches on terracing space?
But looking at those pics of the Ex Rangers End and lots of others it always strikes me how much smaller it looks than it did with the roof on.
Or is it my imagination?

Also on the same theme.
The capacity of CP was 67,000 in the early 80s.
This changed to 60,000 before the decade was out.
This couldn't have been down solely to the new roof that went up in the Celtic End in 86 surely?
A loss of 10% of our capacity was a big loss, any other ideas why?

With the new roof came the removal of a few rows at the back of the Celtic end, as well as the uncovered bit between there and the Jungle being cut away.

he did. I have bad memories of that day involving alcohol and using abusive language towards Mr Best (see Johnny Doyle reference) and further down the line a £60 fine. I think Celtic won 5-0. Massive battles everywhere as was the norm in Celtic V Hibs at Hampden.

He was burst but they made it clear he wasnt getting off.

Looks like the 8-0 game against Aberdeen where Big Yogi scored five goals.
