Was there ever an explanation for this photo, as some of The Lions have said they have no recollection of it being taken??

Could be the 5-4 game at Dunfermline from 66/67; they wore a red jersey with thin white stripes in that game.

EDIT: That is Joe McBride in that pic; I reckon it is the game I've mentioned. Further edited to add that - if it is the Dunfermline game - then that pic is from the second half.

'Faither' injured by a missile at kick off in Montevideo, Big John Fallon came 'on' before the game started.
Wouldn't that be Buenos Aires? It was there that Simpson was knocked out and John Fallon played this and the next game (in Montevideo)?

No names with the line-up so not sure myself, my guess is

Back Row: Billy Armour (take the high road) not sure if thats Pat Lally, Paddy Crerand, Big Billy, Baxter, Archie, Hugh Taylor? (Record and latterly ET columnist)

Front: Craig Brown, ones the provost of Glasgow and other of Rutherglen, Big Jock and does anybody else think the last guy looks like Billy McPhail?

This is like one ay those post-Lenin pictures that Stalin put out there to prove he was as important as he thought he was.

Whose heid did Craig Brown superimpose himself over?
I'm wondering if this pic was at a function for all the Glasgow clubs: Craig Brown was manager of Clyde at one stage; could the others be from Thistle and Queen's Park?

I'm sure that was Jim Brogan; I can't remember if he sold it to or bought it from Nicky Clark.

My mix up, you are correct, Simpson got injured in Argentina, Fallon took over and also played in Uraguay

Was it the other side of the street.

And why was the match rearranged.
That pic of the fence down has been rotated to make it look like it was on the other side of the road but it deffo is the right hand side of the street as in the bigger pic which sustained the damage.

Donno why that game was rearranged rite nuff.
Doesn't look as though any major Scottish games went ahead the weekend of 30th March 1985 (the Edinburgh derby was played the following Tuesday). Scotland had lost at home to Hampden in the World Cup qualifier on 27th March - not sure if there was a major death or event which caused games to be called off? English leagues games went ahead that weekend.
