Where do folk think Stevie Chalmers is positioned in the mystery pic?
If it's CP i've made this up.

The big thing missing is of course the floodlight.

Any KDSers of a certain age....
When we roofed the ex Rangers End did we do up the terracing too, put up new barriers you used to lean against and take away the white bar that was kept along the front of the Celtic End?
Was it a total renovation as opposed to just putting up a roof?

Celtic Ireland, those positions are exactly as I'd assumed (well, actually I initially thought about 3 miles south at Hampden, but anyway...)

Upon hearing the various arguments here, I revised my opinion and thought that maybe SC was just past the tunnel in the direction of the uncovered rangers end, which meant that the expanse of terracing we see behind him is the rangers end nearest the jungle hayshed and the tenements are those bordering the cemetery.

Assuming that the rangers end was under renovation at the time and may not have been immediately recognisable, the only anomaly is as you say, the apparent absence of floodlights, which I'm stumped by. It would suggest neither CP or Hampden, but we know that can't be the case. It has to be one of them.

The size of the terracing and shape of the roof both say CP, imho of course. Plus, if it is looking NW at hampden, where are Cummings Dr and Stanmore Rd behind Somerville Dr? They are parallel to and uphill from Somerville.

Its Hampden

North /west curve up the currant bun end before they got that roof

no sure exactly when that roof went up but sometime after the 67 cup final and not long after Stevie got that pic taken.

Prepared to accept that FLC, because on reflection a NW view of Hampden would omit the hill. However, the aerial view of hampden today is unhelpful: there is a box architecture building just where the SC pic shows a short gap between a long terrace of tenements and ANOTHER tenement if it is indeed Somerville Dr? Did another wee detached tenement exist, then get demolished?

Think its Hampden, reason, the pic was probably a rushed job, still got what looks like jeans on. why would you come out of the dressing room, and troop over to the other side of the park for a photie.

Neither do I CelticIreland. I think your 'made up picture' a few posts above is spot on. Re the missing floodlights, think that they're just out of shot, especially the ones on the jungle side

If it's Hampden; where are the boards that were above every aisle?

Why would Cha-Cha be photographed at Hampden?

IIRC, the deid hun end at Hampdump was covered around 1968/69... maybe even a season earlier, at the same time the deid huns covered their bigoted scumbag caravan followers.

The boards would've probably been taken down when putting the roof up Otis.
Why wouldn't Stevie be photographed at Hampden?
He could have been doing a quick interview and they got a pic with it, there could be all sorts of reasons boss.
