That's the penalty incident in the 1977 Scottish Cup Final v the huns (now deid).
Big Shuggie Edvaldsson appealing and Alfie "Used to be a hun but he's all right now" Conn in the background.
Andy Lynch slotted home the only goal of the match after Bobby Valentine pointed to the spot.
The decision seemed debatable to all but Pat Crerand, who was co-commentating on STV:
"Penalty. Definitely a penalty. No doubt," said the bold Paddy Bhoy.
I think that was the last time STV asked him to be a pundit for an Old Firm game.
First time I ever watched the Bhoys.... :champions:
Got soaked that day but well worth it  . King Kenny's last game

Big Jock and Jinky leaving SFA offices in 1969, Jinky had just received 2 weeks suspension. This meant he missed the 4-0 Cup Final.

I remember the media was in overdrive at the time. Rangers were destined to win because Jinky was suspended.
A young Fifer called George Connolly took the No.7 strip that day......and turned in a masterclass. :worthy:

Big Frank Meechan at the back, my school attendance officer.

Dan Taggart front left I think, the local cooncillor. Can't remember the priest's name from Holy Cross.
Will show this to My Gaffers Uncle on Friday. He might know who these guys are. Probably all cousins..... of each other... ;)

The fact that we were due to play the huns in the Final was, of course, completely unrelated. :klunk:

What makes you say that? I got my first suit in 1969... and it was a 3-piece. :suspect:

As you say the suits look more 1970s. No one in the sixties had lapels that wide.

Looks like they had missed a meeting at Slaters as well.
