Fat Paul Le Guen :rocker:

Ran amok with Willie Garner that night and it got him a transfer to Sunderland.
I don't think willie garner played in a winning celtic team! 3-1 loss to st mirren, 2-0 loss to st Johnstone. Dropped and came back for a 1-0 defeat at Easter road. Although he was part of the wembley wizards 5 a side team!
Think Willie Garner featured in the NTV series 'They Embarassed The Hoops'. Little surprise! :o

Jesus, Jinky was the perfect footballer.
Every shot you see of him he looks to have rubber legs. What balance.
You can have your Bests , Peles, Maradonas and Messis, there will never be another Jinky.

We were a mottley looking bunch back then.

I can see what looks like the old adidas shirts from the 70's. I had orange with black stripes, yellow with blue and white with green. Practically lived in them back then.

Can anyone hazard a guess what ground this could be in ?
the bloke with the ciggie in his mouth, just to our right (his left) you can see a bench, looks like the grey benches used to be in the Beach End :ponder:
My thoughts too, though not sure if 78 was when we still got the Paddock? And whether that end had the grey benches too? :ponder:

Might actually be my first trip to Todders if it's the Paddock.

John Hughes' performances in the 95/96 season were amongst the most consistent I have ever seen from any Celtic defender.

Guy hardly had a bad game. Have to admit I wasn't impressed when he signed but his effort and determination was an example to all.

With those styles and haircuts it's definitely not 1981

I'm sticking with 1979.

I'm not too sure - It wasn't until I started to emulate Charlie Nick style-wise (around about 1982) that I broke away from those styles on show in the picture

Re: Adidas tops - loved them, I always cherished my white with green trimmings one closely followed by my black and yellow/gold. Always sought a green one with white trimmings - but to no avail.

i never said the photo was from 1981, my point is that we were given the Paddock End as recent as 1981.

the anton rogan final ???
:ponder:
1990 SC Final. Finished 9-8 the Dons on penalties after a drab 0-0. Shuggie Wdowcyzk missed our 1st pen and Anton had his saved. I remember a quite clearly half fit Billy Stark being brought back into the side to give us a goal threat that we had been severely lacking in the weeks leading up to the final. Anton for all his faults gets unfairly characterised as the villain of the piece for that final.

The beginning of years of hard times.
