Bob Valentine. Another quality official. Not well known but he was running the line when Schumacher almot decapitated Battiston. Like the ref, didn't see anything wrong.
Always backed the hun!
huns are still raging over Valentine giving us a penalty in the 77 SCF for handball when BFDJ claimed it hit his thigh :rocker:

Joe Craig at Ibrox, if not put me out of my misery
Not the Joe Craig game....

The photo says 'Happy Celtic fans celebrate Gemmell's goal in the 1970 ECF in the San Siro.'

Very useful for rhyming slang for a pre-pubescent youth of that era..... as in "his boot caught me right in the Henrys"

We were a mottley looking bunch back then.

I can see what looks like the old adidas shirts from the 70's. I had orange with black stripes, yellow with blue and white with green. Practically lived in them back then.

Can anyone hazard a guess what ground this could be in ?

Know what you mean. Looks like some are sitting which would tie in with Aberdeen.

Don't often get short sleeves weather up there though !

My guess would be the 2-1 win in Sept 79 when Tam Burns got sent off for scything wee Gordo in two
