First time I've seen that photo of the crowd. I was dragged out when the crowd spilled out. Horrible experience. Entirely down to policing. They opened the gates to let the crowd in-I've still got the full match ticket. First and only time I was worried about Celtic scoring. So lucky that there wasn't a tragedy that night.

That's the old centenary stand which is now the Govan stand. We used to get about half of it in those days.
This goal is not against Sevco, it's against Rangers. Remember them? They were winkers!

It was the 21st may, it's light until nearly 10pm by then.
Iirc games also started at 730, not 745 back then.

I'm in that pic somewhere! We arrived at the ground pretty early and went into the pen because it was quiet, IIRC police were directing the fans to the pens at the centre but we went the other way. As the soon as the game started and the gate was open the place filled up rapidly and the crushing started, it was pretty scary stuff. Could so easily have been a major disaster there, I do remember one old boy on our bus did get broken rib in the crush.
