You'd have played in that game at Yoker then.

The one where one of the players plucked out the corner flag and play continued whilst he was carrying it.
I didn't actually play with blantyre Celtic I played wi an amateur team but trained on the same floodlight pitches as Jinky and co.
is the thistle player danny kellachan by any chance

Parkhead 1980...

The lament is so, so apt. If only we could bring back the 1980 Celtic Park - even for a day - to let the younger generation see what they are missing. The modern day blandness. The concession booths. The silence. Oh, for one more roar from the "Jungle". No need for orchestrated "choirs" in those days. I'd even bring back the orange press box and the orange seats in my beloved ould South Stand! Thanks for this and damn modernity!

Great picture, remember this game well. ibrox, September 1973. Diving header (one of three headers he scored there) from a Davie Hay cross. Look at the 2 Celts at front of main stand, celebrating alone.
Think this was the same day Bobby Murdoch joined Middlesborough, so a wee bit of sadness too.

3 cracking strikers of a ball and Peter has his foot on it  no wonder they are all roasting him.

East End Park btw, I can see myself complete with shell suit and my Old Bhoy too, stood at the same spot just off the aisle every time we were there, funnily enough I can remember him wanting to stand at the same spot at every away ground, must have been the old school style :)

Parkhead 1980...

Great to see. That's the Parkhead of my youth.

Not so fond memories of those floodlights though. As an apprentice spark I had to climb up them to change lamps and grommets.

The ignorance of youth. Safety was oot the windae because it was a job and knock. I was away before the players somedays :D.
