Ask any Lisbon Lion who was the best player amongst them and they may talk about Jinky.TG and Bobby Lennox being World Class but Bobby Murdoch is the one they invariably give the nod too.

God Bless Him I don't think he ever realised just how good he was.

Met Bobby a couple of times and it was humbling to see how modest he was.

Imagine he had Bertie's character !

One of the most touching Celtic interviews I ever watched was Jim Craig talking about Bobby Murdoch.

He began fluently and eloquently speaking about the talent of his former team mate and then completely broke down towards the end.

It was further demonstration of the unity, camaraderie and love that those players had for each other wearing that jersey.

Iwas lucky enough to share the company of Bobby and Bertie a few times in the
Cumberland arms in the Gorbals ,sitting there listening to their stories was magic ,
i must haved seemed like a mad groupie [i was only 19],Bobby was a lot quieter than Bertie
but could hit back with the one liners, whenever Jinky joined them the patter stepped up a gear .
Working class heroes them all. :worthy:
