hmmm - that's what I first thought - height-wise maybes too short, but I do think the angle is a wee bit deceiving as you say, so I'm still thinking it's Joe :ponder:
According to the photo it's Stevie Chalmers :)
And you knew all along that there was hee haw chance that was Stevie. :)

Main stand, fairly full. Jungle - full. Celtic end - heaving. And the jambo nazis filled
about 2/3rds of the old huns end.

Official attendance: 25,458 :loel:

Swore blind he never touched Provan that day.

The second picture tells you everything you need to know about Hearts.

At that time they really WERE the mini-huns. Alex "good Scottish boy" MacDonald
turned them into a team of utter thugs.

^^^

David Syme refereeing; he was an out and out hun... I remembered a huns goal to stand against Dundee United(?) :ponder: when FPLG was lying all alone on the goal-line (probably suffering from pie deficiency) - the justification was that Super Swally was not interfering with play. :mitb:

That said, Syme was a die-hard Tim compared to his old man. :carrot:

Was this 1984? A 1-0 win with McGarvey getting the goal via a corner kick?

If so I may well be in that photo. It was my first ever game. I was in the Main Stand front. My main memories are McGarvey glancing a header into the net and the Hearts fans rioting.

EDIT: I was wrong. My game was. Hearts had adverts on their jerseys.

It was the Cup game from 1983. The Jambo nazis were in the first division at the time.
