That's from the game where the whole team wore the number 8 on their shorts to mark winning eight in a row; in those days, it wasn't compulsory for players to wear individual numbers on their strips.

EDIT: My memory must be playing tricks, because I remember the game I mentioned being played at CP; that pic is an away ground. :ponder:

Just checked: the 'number 8' game was against Clyde at CP in 1973 - we won 5-0 (including a rare goal from Danny McGrain). I think the ground in the pic above may be Rugby Park.

Apart from 7 and 8 he also wore the number 9,10,12 and even 13 :o

Have a stab at that being against St Johnstone
