That Timisoara game was at the start of 23 seasons without us passing Christmas still in Europe.

The Romanians showed their true worth by getting beat at home in the next round 3-0 by West Ham.

I was at the home game, but not the away match.
I've worked quite a bit in Timisoara, and a friend in the city passed on the photos to me.

I remember travelling home on the bus with the school team.

Must have been an afternoon kick off. Commentary wason the radio on the bus and they scored late on.

Not a peep on the bus we were all well scunnered.

The phrase legend is used to easily these days. Now this guy was a true legend.

Rest in peace Bobby.

I remember travelling home on the team plane the next day, sitting next to a chap called Gerry somebody or other.
Think he was a journalist, big Billy didn't like him.

Your correct, it was an afternoon kick off, no floodlights.

May 3rd 1975 Scottish cup final VAirdrie
Celtic won 3-1 Pat McCluskey scoring the 2nd from the spot Billy McNeil's last game for Celtic
I think there was someone climbing up the floodlights pylon
not great fotos but it was the 70's an I think I was pissed
there is others from that game post at a later date when I find them
I don't know why, but there is something great about that second picture there.. It really reminds me for some reason of the old days and what it was like standing on the terraces.... that's more how it looked and felt liked.....

Wee Joe stays about 200 yards away from me. See him all the time at the Co-op buying his Friday night vino.

He's asked me to get his carryout a few times too.

Did the Poli fans hoist you (or your pals) on their shoulders after the match? I've heard that story, but not from anyone who was actually there.
