Muddy parks and goalies without gloves. :rocker:

Think that's don Mackay who ended up coaching at the club formally known as rangers.
Hope big billy scored.

Sorry, guys; no image, but I didn't where else to post this. I wasn't aware that we copyrighted 'The Huddle'.

Times
11 September 2003
Celtic FC, one of Britain's richest football clubs, yesterday won a two-year battle to register "The Huddle" as a copyrighted logo.

The measure opens a new avenue for Celtic merchandising, as well as offering a route to stem the growth of unofficial outlets that had taken to selling the image on flags and scarves around Glasgow. Last year alone, Celtic and its Old Firm rival Rangers were estimated to have missed out on Pounds 14 million of potential income due to bootlegged goods.

IT MAY have started life as a simple sporting ritual, when team players bond before a big game, but the pre-match huddle has become the latest promotional tool for football's marketing machine.

Celtic FC, one of Britain's richest football clubs, yesterday won a two-year battle to register "The Huddle" as a copyrighted logo.

Under the trademark, issued by the UK Patent Office, the club has exclusive rights to images of its players performing the ritual, which cannot be reproduced without its consent.

Celtic's pre-match huddle, the invention of which is credited to the then player Tony Mowbray in the mid-1990s, has become an established ritual at the Parkhead club. Several rugby and cricket teams have also taken to performing huddles before big games.

A spokeswoman for Celtic said last night that the club had scored an important victory by registering "The Huddle", which would help to control its identity.

A Trading Standards spokesman said: "It is essential that companies register their trademarks in order for the law surrounding them to be enforced. Trading Standards officers can only act against counterfeiters when there has been a clear breach of a trademarked brand."
