The Copland Road stand officially opened that day by Waddell.

Big Roy did indeed get sent off and the 10 men prevailed again.

The crowd there is amazing to think you would get a lift into this the mind boggles,
mothers nowadays would have a fit if you went into a crowd that big as a 10 year old.

Think at least 16 of us from the same class in St Francis went up that day and we all got
in ,some of the shy lads left it late though, while the battle hardened among us wher in quick
style.

I know I got a lift in so there must have been 120,000 when you include all the lifts, double shuffles and bungs at the turnstiles.

You've got the wrong game, boys. That's the December 1972 League Cup final which had a crowd of over 71.000. Hibs won 2-1. The 6-1 game that had the crowd of 106,000, Celtic were still wearing the classic round neck hoops. In this game they are wearing the V with the collar.

Interesting to note the attendance and how full Hampden looks when you consider that almost twice that crowd (136,000) were at the Leeds ECSF a couple of years earlier.

Edit - Hmmmm, on closer examination, maybe Jinky is wearing the round neck hoops.

It's hard to see a collar but the give away is Dixie is behind Jinky and he didn't play in the 72 LCF.
