Think the guy next to Jock Stein in the picture is Frank Meechan.

I would agree with all the names except that I'm pretty sure that that's not John McPhail between John Higgins and John McAlinden. But in saying that, I've no idea who it is.

I realise now it isn't McPhail - Was hoping St,A was on the money with that one.

Puzzled - He is probably too young to be the Doc - Even although Doc Fitzimonns did play for Celtic.

Looks like Mike Haughney to me, would agree with John Higgins but not 100% sure and your bang on the money with all the rest CB.

Could be, but he was also the attendance officer for St Ninian's Kirky. :nono:

Higgins was a coach and then Chief Scout under Jock and I am confident on him.

I had thought of Haughney but envisaged he was possibly taller - He was a clever guy with degrees and what not and I don't think he ever came back to Scotland to live after he emigrated to USA in the late 1950's.

Rollo came to mind also but he ended up in Workington and I have never heard of him being involved in coaching or scouting under Jock.

Jock tended to surround himself with guys he had played with, knew what Celtic was about and he had to be able to trust them implicitly - Jim Kennedy is probably the exception in that pic but he wasn't coaching he was tickets - That would tend to suggest the mystery man possibly played alongside him or was coached by him (post his injury) at some point.

I'm still none the wiser right enough.
