Quoting limited to 3 levels deepPosted Image
Sorry, meant to say second right for Divers.
Willie O'Neill is to the left of Frank Connor the keeper.
Thanks.

Incidentally, this strip was always perceived as an
unlucky strip. There were a right few stinkers of results
wearing the 'Shamrock' strip.

An easy strip to like, but few happy memories attend it.

Not only did the wummins 'Auld Enemy' battle it out at Celtic Park, but we also had an aeroplane landing and a donkey expert during the game

Beats the Paradise Windfall for entertainment
The aeroplane landing was cancelled as the pilot wasn't certain he could clear the terracing at take off.
(No kidding)

Were you in the Grant Stand that day for safety reasons

The last time the first team wore that was in a SC qf against Killie at CP in 1965; we won 3-2... I'm sure we were down 2-1 at one stage. The Huns lost 2-1 at Easter Road the same day. :)

Real Madrid did have to change shorts before kick off owing to the colour clash.

Jock Stein refused to have Celtic wear green shorts which forced Real into wearing blue ones.

Sooooperb ! Made me laugh out loud !

Actually had turf from Lisbon which someone brought back when I was a boy. Kept it in a wee box that my rosaries used to be kept in.

It turned to straw (literally) but it was traeted like a holy relic in our house.

Lost it in a flitting in '79.

I looked at them first before posting that. The ones I'm in possession of are taken from the old press box (this view - http://image.wetpaint.com/image/1/CBAHZKViVyN5BCVzGenDSg34094/GW360H268) of each of the 4 goals.

Are you sure?

I was at that game and I'm as certain as it's possible to be
that we didn't wear this strip.

You are corect in what you say about the Hibs score; Jock Stein
was their manager that day and the next time he was in charge
that season in the 'Scottish', it was as our manager beating Motherwell
in the 'semi' after a replay.

Any light, anybody?

Soubirous - Old evening times report from that day shows a pic of Celtic in the shamrock strip.

There's no Jock Stein there, so possibly earlier?
