The wedding picture is impressive but it really hammers home the point that, in the olden days, there were a lot of minging burds.

Always enjoy looking at this thread. A big thank you to all who contribute :worthy: :worthy: .

Don't know if the following books have been mentioned before (my humblest apologies if so) but they all have some excellent photos:

1. Celtic - football legends 1888-1938, Stuart Marshall: http://www.thecelticwiki.com/page/Books+-+Celtic+Football+Legends+(1888-1938)

2. Celtic Football Club 1887-1967, Tom Campbell and Pat Woods: http://www.thecelticwiki.com/page/Books+-+Celtic+Football+Club+1887-1967

3. Celtic: A Celebration, The Centenary Squad: http://books.google.co.uk/books/about/Celtic_a_celebration.html?id=IRvkoSl-iL0C&redir_esc=y (can't find it on the CelticWiki although that is not to say it isn't there).

I would scan some of the info in but to be honest I don't really have the time   . Also not too sure about the copyright rules etc (wouldn't want to get the forum or me for that matter into trouble).

Boags Rhumatic Rum Remedy endorsed by the Mighty Quinn. Player endorsements were bit different back in the day  . Imagine players taking rum for sporting injuries now! No wonder Jimmy said it was "truly gratifying"!

I'm intrigued to know what they punished Pat Gallagher for. The club seem incensed at the decision to ban him.

Commission Agent was usually a bookie.

Take a punt  on Eddie Thompson as the player?
