I have to agree that it's Celtic Park, probably on 22nd March 1919. Celtic won 2-0 according to the Wiki. No team line-up, though.

Back in the day, it was the home team who wore their second strip if there was a clash of colours.

I am now convinced its the Grant Stand at Celtic Park. If you pause the movie in the link below at 1:01 you can clearly see the pillars that support the upper part of the stand that are also shown in Patsy's pic. The film is from 1921.

Celtic Park, 1921

The fact that he is wearing a plain jersey need not surprise us because they often wore the plain green against Queen's Park, and in these days the Home team was just as likely to change as the Away team, on the grounds that they would have a spare set of strips handy! The crowd is poor! And they look as if they are protected against the cold, so it is not midsummer. I would guess 22 March 1919 when Celtic beat them 2-0 before 16,000.
Sorry, I missed that above. Took me ages to go digging to find that out :brickwall:  :)

WOW  thats exactly where i was stood for that game. When i recall it in my minds eye thats exactly the view.
the crowd would be 15000 according to the old board
The official attendance that day was 60,800 which was the exact capacity at that time and it was not a ticket match.

My mate was at a CSA meeting afterwards and Tom Grant confessed that there was 72,000 in there that day.

Seems funny looking back but that game was one year to the day before the Hillsbrough disaster.

Says a lot about the fans that there were no incidents or casualties in that throng.

Great picture of CP and Barrowfield in the one shot. Haven't a clue how to put it up here so perhaps one of you computer techies could help.

Thanks

There's something strange about this image of CP at the top right.
The Main Stand looks as if its in two parts which it wasn't.
