That's a really nice picture of King Kenny and Jock Stein - sheer delight at meeting one another again. KK got a lot of stick that night (Big Jock's testimonial) from sections of our support. He scored a couple of belters if I recall correctly. If anyone has any film footage of that night I'd love to see it.

Ayr United at Somerset January 1975. We won 5-1 and I think that's Ingram scoring.

Ayr played in a Barcelona away strip for a while.

I gave him pelters that night. Sort of regret it now but you had to be around then to appreciate the sense of betrayal when he left.

Thanks for that and thanks for all the photos.

Takes me back to when I would get 'Playing for Celtic' for my Xmas and these were the kind of photos that would fill the pages, and I loved them even then.

:ph43r: Is it okay to say I used to like the Motherwell sash style strip from the 70s? :ph43r:

I know what you mean. Strips were more distinctive then. Used to love the contrast in colours when we played 'well, Dundee United, Hearts and Thistle.

Dunfermline's old pin stripe strip was good also.

Good morning, another wee discovery last night :worthy:

Billy making his way round the stadium back to the dressing room, only stopping to pose with a couple of Lisbon Cops

^^^ true, some magnificent bunnetry in that photo - actually the pictures in this thread are fantastic, but the ones I particularly like are the fans clubs, CSCs, etc. That for me is the real "Celtic", the constant in our history.

Also, the pictures of Jock Stein in his pomp as manager, for me as kid growing up in that early 70s era, I held him in both awe and to be honest I thought he was a bit scary - a bit like an uncle-figure who would be great fun, but quickly dish out a slap on the head if you stepped out of line.

Re. the booing at Dalglish at the Jock Stein testimonial; I was such a fan-boy I was just glad to see my idol at Celtic Park again. I do remember at that game a few supporters getting into "discussions" with others after being told to give it a rest with the barrage of insults.
